At Naples International Airport the car rental stations are located just outside the terminal. Some are within a few meters' walk, others are about half a kilometer away, and they are connected to the terminal via a free shuttle that takes customers with a car hire reservation to the relevant rental station and parking lot. From the arrivals hall it's just a few steps out of the sliding doors to exit to the area, where the shuttle leaves. Although bus and Metro lines connect the center of Naples with the Port of Santa Lucia, a drive down the coast along the Bay of Naples is unforgettable. Pausilypon Archaeological Site, which contains the remains of a Roman amphitheater and villa, is a highlight on a visit to this part of Naples. The ancient theater ruins consist of 13 rows of seats at the very top of the auditorium, and another 6 in the center. The amphitheater has a total capacity of 2,000 seats, an impressive sight.

If you're not taking the Avis rental car, you can take the Alibus (from Central Train Station) to the Molo Beverello pier in the harbour and walk from there along the shore. Metro Line 2 goes to Mergellina station, the nearest to promenade. There are buses that also go to the seafront, such as the Riviera di Chiaia bus for example, which stops quite close to Mergellina's Lungomare.
