Naples Airport - All Information on Naples International Airport (NAP)

Located in Capodichino, some 7 km distance from the city, Naples International Airport carries the IATA description of NAP, and the ICAO description of LIRN. There is only one terminal building, which handles domestic and international flights.

In 2018, Naples International Airport handled just over 9.9 million passengers (8.6M-2017) and 11,691 (11,069-2017) tonnes of cargo and mail. There were 79,722 (75,013- 2017) take-offs and landings of aircraft. Naples International Airport offers travelers 14 domestic destinations and 82 international routes. Some 37 airlines used the airport in 2018. Naples Airport has 30 aircraft stands, 19 gates and 3 bridges. Passengers will find 64 check-in counters for their use, when they arrive at the terminal and 3 shopping areas. Travelers arriving by car will find some 2,000 parking spaces at the airport, which offer both long and short-term parking at affordable rates.

Arrivals, Departures and Airlines at Naples Airport

Destinations served by Naples International Airport include Amsterdam, Malta, Turin, Prague, Paris, Rome, Munich, London, Valencia, Tenerife, Stockholm, Zurich, Porto and Tel Aviv. Airlines using Naples International Airport include Ryanair, easyJet, Jet2.com, Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, Alitalia, Aer Lingus and Royal Air Maroc.

On the ground floor of the Arrivals Concourse is the Tourist Office, which opens between the hours of 8.00 am and 8.00 pm every day. The office is able to inform travelers on ways to travel into the city and beyond, and what type of hotels and tourist attractions they can expect to find in Naples and the city's surroundings.

The ground floor of Terminal 1 is where the check-in area is located and the monitors are to show flight information at all times. The check-in counter numbers for flights are shown on the monitors at least two hours before departure. The security check area is on the first floor of Terminal 1.

Naples International Airport offers travelers free WiFi access that is unlimited in all airport areas. Passengers only need to use their portable device with a WiFi network card and dial up the airport's network. A welcome page appears and they can register there, or go directly through their Twitter, Linkedin or Facebook account to log on.

Shopping and dining before passing through security include a mini-market, a hairstylist for men and women in the external arrivals area, a shop selling newspapers, tobacco products and gifts on the ground floor of the departures area, and the shopping arcade outlets on the first floor, which are open from 7.00 am to 9.00 pm every day. The shopping arcade has branded names like Victoria's Secret or Camomilla Italia to offer travelers. Restaurants, snack bars and coffee shops include Moccia, a pastry and bakery place on the first floor shopping gallery, and AirCafe Bistro Bar next to the car rental area, the Pizzeria Restaurant Fratelli La Bufala serving authentic Neapolitan fare, and McDonalds fast food restaurant, also in the shopping gallery on the first floor.

The external departures area offers passengers also a post office, which is open between 8.00 am and 1.30 pm from Mondays to Fridays, and from 8.00 am to 12.30 pm on Saturdays. A Bureau de Change is located in the Arrivals Concourse, opening from 8.00 am to 11.30 pm every day, and at the Departures Concourse, opening from 5.30 am to 10.00 pm daily (after security controls area).

Banking is also available in the external departures area at Terminal 1. The ATM's are in the external departures area before security on the first floor, in the check-in area on the ground floor, and in the gates area.

The ground floor, arrivals area, is home to a Travel Agency, where onward train tickets or flight tickets or even passages on cruise ships can be booked.

Terminal 1's departures area also provides passengers with an Inter-faith Chapel, which is open daily from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm.

The Arrivals Concourse provides First Aid 24-hours a day, together with 118 emergency services. Staff are equipped with emergency medical equipment to assist passengers with health issues.

Travelling to and from Naples International Airport

Getting to and from the airport is easy, as a large number of bus lines, both for travel beyond Naples and to the city, are available at the airport. Tickets for the Alibus service can be bought inside the airport, in the arrivals area. The bus stop for Alibus for buses to the city of Naples in next to the P1 parking lot, in the bus parking area. The bus stop for arrivals from Naples city is right in front of the terminal.

The taxi rank is also located right in front of the Arrivals Concourse. Taxis waiting for trade outside the terminal offer both flat rates for urban and suburban routes. This rate includes an extra airport charge, and additional charges like luggage, animal transport or charges for the time of night.

The car rentals area is in the Arrivals Concourse of Naples Airport, offering car rental from operators such as Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Locauto, Maggiore and Sixt.

A convenient shuttle is also at hand to take passengers to central Naples' destinations, like the main train stations for example.

Naples International Airport terminal closes down every night between 11.30 pm and 3.30 am.
